Scarecrow Pete

Scarecrow Pete by Mark Kimball Moulton.
illustrated by Karen Hillard Good.
Scarecrow Pete can be classified in the fiction genre with a subgenre of the joy of reading. The theme in this story was how joyful reading can be when it sparks your imagination. The primary character was Scarecrow Pete and the secondary character was the little boy. This book has not received any awards but it is a wonderful fall book for children to read, especially you want children to learn how much fun reading is. The publishing company was Ideals Publication.
This story was about a young boy who was in the field. He heard someone talking to him and found out it was Scarecrow Pete. He thought it was a dream. The scarecrow told him how much he loved to read. The two of them became close friends and read together everyday. I would like to use this book with children to help them read. It would be wonderful at the beginning of the year to get students excited about reading, especially with the time of the year the book is in.
